The ProFire

Lightbridge from M-Audio is a FireWire interface, capable of connecting up to four Lightpipe equipped devices, such as an eight-channel preamp, to a PC or Mac computer. The unit provides a total of thirty-four digital inputs and outputs, plus two analog outputs over a single FireWire connection, and is perfect for integrating digital mixers, AD/DA converters and/or ADATs with DAW software.
The interface also supports sixteen-channel Lightpipe operation at 88.2 and 96kHz sample rates via the SMUX protocol. Additionally it can output Wordclock as a master, or slave to external sync on any input. The MIDI I/O, available on an included breakout cable, also accommodates MIDI Time Code and MIDI Machine Control. Independent volume controls are provided for the balanced outputs and front panel headphone jack.
